As you know, the pandemic sadly meant that we had to cancel East Finchley Festival in 2020. At a festival committee meeting at the beginning of this year, we took the difficult decision to also postpone the summer festival scheduled for June 2021. We deemed it too much of a risk to attempt to plan for our usual June event when there was, and still is, so much uncertainty ahead. However, we still have every intention of putting on our beloved festival as soon as we are allowed - and as soon as we are confident that we can deliver it safely. East Finchley Festival CIC (EFFCIC) is a non-profit Community Interest Company, established October 2019 and Registered England & Wales company no. 12271366.

The primary purpose of EFFCIC is to continue staging the East Finchley Festival annually in Cherry Tree Wood, N2, inheriting responsibility for this event from the East Finchley Community Trust, with our first festival taking place on 21st June 2020.

As such, The East Finchley Festival CIC has adopted the core festival principles and policies as established by our predecessors (East Finchley Community Trust).

East Finchley Festival CIC is committed to continue to ensure that:

East Finchley Festival is an inclusive festival with a welcome given to ALL within our community
The Festival is free at the point of entry – no entrance fees are charged to enter Cherry Tree Wood. Stage entertainment, children’s performances and sports are all free of charge
Stage acts perform on a voluntary basis and do not receive payment
Encouragement and preference is given to local (to N2) food vendors, stallholders and entertainment acts on both stages
Quality local independent trade and craft stalls are preferred
Vendors are encouraged to avoid single-use disposable items and consider the environmental impact of any products they sell
Motorised access to Cherry Tree Woods is discouraged as far as possible
Motorised entertainments such as funfair rides are discouraged
Generators are only provided for activities involved in running the festival and are not permitted for individual stall holders
We aim to leave Cherry Tree Wood in as good as, if not a better, state after the festival than before
Respect will always shown to local residents living in the immediate vicinity of Cherry Tree Wood to minimise any adverse impact the event might have upon the local area.

Project Owner: East Finchley Festival CIC The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
