Earley Cricket Club is a volunteer-run community club, welcoming players of all abilities, ages and backgrounds.
It began as a neighbourhood club, Catcliffe Way Cricket Club, in 2007 but soon grew to become Earley Cricket Club.
Now with two open-age teams competing in the Berkshire Cricket League, the club is climbing the leagues, with teams in Division 1 and Division 2 of the BCL.
The club received global interest in the summer of 2019 when it became the world's first vegan cricket club, providing only vegan food for its teas and pioneering a project to develop a non-leather cricket ball.
This project is to help that groth continue. With the addition of a pavilion, the club will be able to provide a youth section for the local community and host youth tournaments as well as community open days.
