About the Project Creator
Eynsham Allotment Association was formed early in the 20th Century as a not-for- profit organisation. Our history can be found at Eynshamonline/allotments. We are an Affiliated Society of the Royal Horticultural Society through whom we are covered by insurances. We currently have 139 plots occupied by people of all ages, individuals and famiy groups and a waiting list of 8 We organise regular work party days to maintain and improve the site throughout the year. We hold plant and seed swaps and social activities such as barbeques on the site so we can share information and build a community. Our committee meets 6 times through the year and is made up of volunteers who want to help on all aspects of running and impoving the allotments for all. Because we are a not-for-profit organisation we currently charge very reasonable rents for plots hoping no one would be excluded from getting outside growing their own produce.
We rent our land from Eynsham Parish Council who are supportive of our call of Nature project.
