About the Project Creator
The Dukes is Lancashire's only producing theatre and independent cinema. The Dukes host a high quality programme of live performance and cinema year round welcoming over 70,000 people each year and create Lancaster's famous Play in the Park each summer at Williamson Park. The Dukes is home to two film festivals Dark Dukes our Halloween film extravaganza and Green Screen looking at the Climate Change emergency through film. Alongside our programme we across run an extensive community engagement programme working with 10,000 people a year to explore their own creativity and professional development. We support artists with talent development programmes across theatre and film and work with local businesses and festivals to make sure cutlure is the beating heart of Lancashire. We are a Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and have been open for 52 years. The Dukes is continually rated outstanding and we work to present new film and theatre both at our base in Lancaster and across the county.
The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
