More about our impact
The environment
My project has encouraged women in the community to get their steps in with their babies this supports low carbon alternatives to using local/own transport for short journeys.
The local economy
I asked individuals to complete review forms before and after the programme, the feedback I recieved: - Lower levels of anxiety - Higher energy levels - Improved mood - A rise in self confidence All of the above will increase the individuals physical and mental wellbeing which is making them re assess their work/lifestyle balance which will have a positive impact on the local economy.
Volunteering, jobs & education
This project has educated women on how to keep fit and improve their physical and mental wellbeing through healthy habits.
Arts, culture & heritage
Throughout the 6 months, a variety of classes were taking place out doors, making use of the beautiful sites throughout Sunderland.
Activity, health and leisure
This project has brought together a lot of individuals in a similar situation enabling them to socialise and make friends. Mothers have been able to bond with babies in a safe environment. Health and fitness has been made accessible for pre and post natal women breaking down barriers. Reduced anxiety throughout the sessions has make the transition from maternity leave to work easier. In terms of weight loss and reducing obesity the girls lost a total of 134lbs between them 9 stone 8lb! This is just the start of their constant progress now they have learnt new healthy habits for both themselves and their families.
