The idea
A series of three empowering community dance and wellbeing workshops for up to 50 women per event in Hammersmith and Fulham. Led by an award-winning doctor and dance teacher, these sessions foster connection and creativity among women of diverse backgrounds. The workshops focus on physical wellbeing, mental health, and self-expression, aiming to build confidence and promote positivity.
Each workshop will be over half a day. The event will start with introductions and creating a safe space. We will then go on to discuss mental health and wellbeing challenges for women, and discussing the challenges which are unique to women and how psychological difficulites may present differently. Each workshop will be followed by a 4 week term of dance fitness classes to foster these connections (4x 1 hr sessions)We will discuss the science of stress and burnout. Thereafter, we will move onto dance, and using the space to create physical confidence to support the psychological wellbeing discussed.

- Promotes inclusivity and community unity by bringing together women from diverse backgrounds.
- Enhances local engagement with community resources through collaboration with hubs and businesses.
- We have an opportunity to connect with specifically underrepresented groups e.g. ethnic minority backgrounds, new mothers, neurodivergence
- The workshops will educate directly from a wellbeing expert/medical professional to help to understand more about mental health and the science behind this
- Participants will learn about government guidelines for physical activity for adults and older adults, and practically how we can achieve this
