Transforming local communities and environments
We had a fantastic last session of the Creative Recycling project last Friday! Painting glass and learning how important it is to recycled it. It was such a pleasure for me to coordinate it and I am very happy about how it went. Thanks to all of you who joined and took part in looking after our community, our planet and...creative skills! 😊😁😁❤️ I hope I will see you again soon for new events in the future! Warm wishes, Cati :)
I was interviewed last week by Tottenham and Wood Green Independent and Saturday an article about our project was released! I am very happy about being mentioned by local newspaper and I hope this will resonate with more residents and stimulate their interest in waste and better behaviour around it! Have a look! :) http://www.thetottenhamindependent.co.uk/news/15773185.Campaigner_organises_upcycling_workshops/
In our second session, with focus on Tetrapack packaging, we collected a huge amount of litter from the right side of Walpole Road, outside Lordship Rec. There was much more to do, which means the road is particularly subjected to litter and fly-tipping unfortunately! 😦 However we did our best and happily transformed Tetrapack boxes in wonderful wallets and place-mats in the craft session soon after! Lovely group and gratifying results! 😉 Looking forward to the next session in December: Plastic packaging!
After a very nice first session last week where we made baskets and candle-pots from aluminium cans and we have collected a fair amount of litter with our fantastic children (3 bags of recyclable and general waste in only few metres in the park and along Walpole Rd just outside Lordship Rec!), we are ready for the next session! Friday 17th November we will focus on Tetrapack (cardboard) packaging! This is one of my most popular sessions: do you know all these cardboard boxes you chop in the bin after drinking a juice, soya milk or cooking tomato sauce??? They can be an extraordinary resource to make new items! Come next time to learn how! 🙂 Venerdì 17 novembre dalle ore 15:15 alle ore 17:30, Lordship Rec, N17 6NU Londra Event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/166109023949646
Our first session last Friday went very well. Our great kids did such a good job finding much hided waste on bushes and the edges of the road. It seemed a funny treasure hunting challenge! Haringey Council came to take pictures of us and we will be mentioned on local newspaper and community groups! It was very nice to have you there! Thanks and see you next month! 🙂 ❤
Hi all! I am so excited about our first session this Friday! We will meet at 15,30 in front of the Lordship Hub and walk towards Walpole Rd. This time we will focus on that side of the park. Weather forecast seem good for Friday, however please wear appropriate clothing for outdoor (e.g. rain-jacket, umbrella...). I will provide Protective Equipment (gloves, bags, litter-picking tongues...) for the litter-picking activity, plus consent Image forms to sign, if you agree and wish to be in pictures that I will use to document the project! At 16,00 we will be back at hub for the craft activity. This Friday we will first learn with a short introduction about the environmental impact of aluminium and we will make candle-pots, ashtrays and baskets with aluminium cans! Please feel free to bring along thin washed aluminium cans (such as from beer or soft drink, that are easy to cut). All craft material is provided. I look forward to seeing you there! :) Cati
