Regeneration of Coaley Recreation Ground

The paths and plaza were officially opened on 17th April 2025. We had an opening ceremony that engaged the community with support from the community shop and village playgroup as well as from St John's ambulance. Two local teenagers cut the ribbon wearing their football kits. 

The plaza space has been used by several community events including the a Bioblitz and the village fete as well as by hall users overspilling onto the rec at the village Plant Swap WI teas and Coaley Rocks (a live music evening).

The paths have proven suitable for mobility scooters and wheelchair users as well as being heavily used by children learning to ride their bikes. 

The plaza has been developed further since opening with the planting of the sensory garden which is now flowering beautifully.
