Reduce waste with Coquetdale Repair Café

Our first Repair Café yesterday, and what a happy day it was! We repaired 29 items and saved them from landfill - from a cassette player to garden tools, a vacuum cleaner, trousers, a coat, a basket, chairs, bags, and an 80's record player. Many of the items meant so much to the owners in terms of emotional value. 💚💚💚 Thanks very much to all visitors, all our brilliant volunteers, all WI bakers who made such gorgeous cakes, and all of you who supported us to make it happen. Yesterday, our crowdfunding campaign came to an end, and we are incredibly happy with the results! Your generous support led to an amazing pledge of £1,999 from the North of Tyne Authorities, allowing us to professionalise Coquetdale Repair Café even more and buy quality equipment for our volunteers to work with. We're so excited that it's really going to happen! We hope to see you all at our opening event, which will be on Saturday, September 10th, from 10am - 2pm in the Jubilee Hall in Rothbury.
