More about our impact
The local economy
There were quite a few local food outlets at the event and some stall holders. They all made money on the day and the food outlets donated a percentage to the Parish Council towards the next event.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We had a number of volunteers on the day covering health and safety, litter picking, emptying bins, covering activities, serving drinks and marshalling.
Arts, culture & heritage
When the African band was playing, quite a few children expressed an interest in their culture, dancing and drums. The Morris Dancers also attended and people were interested in how they were formed. The representative of these groups talked to interested parties about their heritage.
Activity, health and leisure
From 12 noon until around 6pm the children and adults were enjoying the leisure time. The children were "on the go" the whole afternoon, enjoying all the activites and mixing with other children and their families. Feedback from children and parents was that the afternoon was incredible, families with three or more children did not have to worry about the cost of letting their children go on the bouncy castles, have their face painted, or enjoy a candy floss. The only thing they would have to pay for if they brought their own picnic was an ice cream!
