Our lovely community library is at the heart of our village here in Tickhill, Doncaster. We aim for our library to be a focal point for all sections of the community. We, the Trustees of Tickhill Community Library Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Registration Number: 1170700), all live and are active within our community. There are 55 volunteers who help to run the library and we have over 250 members who use the library and its facilities on a regular basis.

As a team of trustees and volunteers, we are all passionate about providing a safe, accessible, and friendly space for our library members and wider community as we know that many of our customers visit us for much more than just the books we have on offer.

Our objectives as a charity are:

- to advance the education and learning of the public in the civil parish of Tickhill in South Yorkshire and its environs, by the running and management of a community library for the benefit of the said resident;

and

- to promote for the benefit of the residents of Tickhill and its environs the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants.

Or in other words, we aim for our library to offer facilities and an environment which is accessible to all members of the community and which enhance their learning, developement and quality of life.

We strongly believe that our project to create a community garden in our library grounds will further enable us to achieve our objectives because the pocket park and sensory garden we plan to create will be open to all members of the local community and through conversations with both our client base and within the community, we have found there to be a strong interest in using this currently wasted space to create a quiet haven at the heart of our village, especially for the elderly, socially isolated and children with additional needs.

Project Owner: Tickhill Community Library The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
