An update from Community Closet HQ8 months ago

Hello supporters, Happy Halloween! As the festive season approaches, we wanted to share a little update from all of us at Change Clothes. Over the past few months, we’ve been working hand in hand with five incredible community partners - MASI, Jane’s Place, Mendicity, The Liberties Community Project, and Focus Ireland Temple Bar Café - to make sure people from all walks of life have access to clean, dry, and seasonally appropriate clothing. Thanks to your generosity and our current round of funding, the Community Closet programme is running strong right up to the end of the year. But as we look ahead to 2026, we’re determined to keep the rails full and the kindness flowing - so we’re launching a special winter campaign: 🎄 Double the Warmth. For just €10, you can sponsor a warm outfit for someone in need this winter - and the best part? Dublin City Council will double your donation! That means your kindness goes twice as far in helping us spread warmth and dignity this season. *And* if you’d like to make it extra meaningful, just email proof of your donation to [email protected] and we’ll send you a digital gift certificate - perfect to give as a thoughtful, sustainable present this holiday season. Here's the campaign link: https://www.spacehive.com/sponsor-an-outfit Thank you for helping us change clothes and change lives - together, we’re keeping Dublin a little warmer this winter. With warmth and gratitude, The Change Clothes Team

September @ The Community Closet9 months ago

Thanks to your support, our Community Closet has been able to provide clothing to people who need them most over the past two months. Here’s how your generosity has made a difference: Focus Ireland Temple Bar Café received 104 items, including tracksuit bottoms, leggings, and shoes to support people experiencing homelessness. Mendicity received 93 items, mainly men’s clothing to meet immediate needs. Jane’s Place received 72 items, focusing on warm women’s clothing, coats, and footwear for winter. 📅 In September alone, we distributed 165 items - ensuring that people had access to seasonally appropriate, good-quality clothing. Every donation helps us bring dignity, choice, and comfort to individuals and families facing difficult times. 💜 Thank you for helping us keep our Community Closet open - together we’re making sure clothing reuse changes lives, not just wardrobes.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our Community Closet programme through Spacehive. Your generous donations have made a real difference in the lives of people in need. Thanks to your support, we were able to gather and distribute essential clothing to several organisations working on the front lines this Summer. These included: 1. Liberties Soup Kitchen 2. Focus Ireland (George’s Hill and Temple Bar locations) 3. Mendicity Institution, Dublin 8 Your donations have helped bring dignity and comfort to those who need it most. We're excited to share that we are currently working on setting up a "Free to Take" initiative, which will provide service users and our charity partners with regular, easy access to essential clothing via private swap + styling appointments at Change Clothes.. This next step in our project aims to further reduce barriers for those experiencing hardship and to create a more accessible, dignified system of support. Thank you once again for your generosity and belief in our mission. We look forward to updating you as this new initiative takes shape. xo Change Clothes
