The Latest from The Community Closet

Behind the scenes, a brilliant team of 10–12 volunteers kept the Community Closet running smoothly throughout the year. From sorting rails to organising storage and getting clothes ready for redistribution, their time, care and good humour were a huge part of making the project work.

On average, around 250 items of clothing were re-distributed each month to partner organisations across Dublin. Some months were busier than others (sunshine naturally means fewer coats!), but the need for good-quality, dignified clothing remained consistent throughout the year.

We worked closely with a range of trusted frontline organisations - including The Liberties Soup Run, The Liberties Community Project, Mendicity, Jane’s Place, MASI, MQI, and Focus Ireland’s Temple Bar Café - to make sure clothing reached people who needed it most, when they needed it most.
