The idea
We will have a local music leader to play music and bring props for participants to sing along to a variety of popular tunes with movement which the participants can join in with or just enjoy the music. After the music we will gather together for refreshments for a chance to have a natter and enjoy being with others supported by our volunteers.
What we'll deliver
- 14 community singing sessions over 7 months
- Opportunity for carers to enjoy an activity with the person they care for in a supported environment
- Refreshments for participants offering chance to reflect and connect with others after the activity
- Marketing of the singing session across North -Mid Shropshire
Why it's a great idea
Singing with light movement engages the brain and stimulates emotions for people living with dementia and special educational needs. Being part of an audience enjoying music helps people together with their carers to feel less isolated for a better connected community.

Steps to get it done
- Agree dates of singing sessions by 10th April
- Initial promotion activity by 27th April
