Community Matters Project - Evesham
We need your help to provide emergency support boxes to people in our community who have fallen on financial difficulties due to the current crisis.
About the Project Creator
Wallace House Community Centre was built in 1969 with the aim of providing facilities and opportunities for the whole community and since then has always strived to meet the needs of those in our community.
Wallace House has a diverse programme of activities for all ages, cultures and abilities. We are home to many groups including:
- U3A Groups,
- Football,
- Baby Clinics with health visitors,
- Table Tennis,
- Bulgarian Folk Dancing,
- A community cafe' which is run by a group of adults with disabilities,
- Senior Citizens groups,
- Back to work advocacy,
- Drop in clinic for the local housing association,
The list really does go on, if you would like to see the full list of what we have on offer please look on our website wallacehouse.org.uk.
In addition to those exciting opportunities we offer a dedicated youth provision including a drop in youth clubs, youth mentoring, youth cafe' and our YouTurn project, which supports young people aged 13-18 who are at risk of becoming NEET, offering them help and support to remain in education and access vocational training. YouTurn currently has 100% success rate of young people either returning to full time education or gaining vocational training qualifications such as Asdan and OCN.
We were running a community larder until Covid-19 which has now had to change and evolve, which is why we are now supplying emergency support boxes to members of our community who find themselves in financial difficulties and we are proud of the work we do.
