‘Unmasked Mental Health’ is a non-profitable organisation set up to help all people struggling with mental health difficulties. It’s here to help them be able to open up about their struggles. This would inevitably limit the rates of crisis and suicide. The organisation works through both physical and digital communities that are both positive and safe environments. We are very business minded, continually developing our services around quality and content, while ensuring we are on top of all new research and developments within the field of mental health and wellbeing.
We opened the doors to the organisation for helping people in January 2019. In these months we have been able to develop a mobile app (apple and android versions) with approximately 4,500 users (and counting…) and six hubs in and around Calderdale, with the numbers of attendants growing as our message is spreading. We have over 22,000 followers on Facebook, and an additional 2,500 followers on other social media platforms. We have given these people hope, a voice and a place that they can go and talk to others about their struggles. The app gives people a platform 24 hours, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, and has a direct link to an affiliate crisis line should they feel that they are reaching their limits. These intervening measures takes off pressure over other organisations that are besieged with long waiting lists and as well, prevents sufferers’ conditions degenerating into being suicidal.
