As it is the case in many places, Charlbury and its surrounding areas are facing a significant challenge with young people who are unmotivated and unengaged with their community and its opportunities. There are much higher numbers of young people suffering mental illness and higher cases of antisocial behaviour. We therefore feel there is a real need for a dedicated Youth Ambassador who can connect with our young people, providing support, direction and sharing opportunities. The Youth Ambassador will play a pivotal role in reversing current negative trends and obstacles by creating and overseeing various youth programmes and activities, particularly for young people who feel marginalised and underprivileged. The aim is to work with young people to improve mental health, social engagement and future career prospects.
What we'll deliver:
- Employment of a youth ambassador for Charlbury and surrounding areas
- Deployment of an engaging youth programme of activities
- Liaison between the various groups and organisations of Charlbury
