My name is Jamie Lee Evans, and I am the Founder and Director of EDA Studios, a community dance and wellbeing academy based in Ellesmere Port.
Since opening in 2018, I have been dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where children and young people can build confidence, develop skills, and feel a sense of belonging. Today, EDA Studios supports over 150 children and young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including many facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
For many of our students, the studio is more than just a place to dance—it is a safe space where they can make friends, express themselves, and grow in confidence. Alongside our weekly classes, we deliver holiday clubs, community performances, fundraising events, school workshops, and inclusive sessions for children with additional needs.
We are proud to create opportunities that inspire young people. In 2019, we fundraised to take students to perform at the Formula 1 Grand Prix, and in 2025, 27 of our students performed internationally in Salou, Spain, after successfully auditioning alongside performers from across the world.
Everything we do is focused on helping young people thrive, feel supported, and reach their full potential within a positive and welcoming community.
EDA Studios is facing the loss of its current premises after being asked to vacate the building we transformed into a safe and welcoming community space. This puts vital services for over 150 local children and young people at risk.
We are seeking funding to help secure and prepare a new permanent home for EDA Studios, including renovation costs, equipment, safety flooring, and the delivery of our wellbeing and inclusive arts programmes.
With your support, we can continue providing a safe, creative, and supportive environment where young people can build confidence, improve wellbeing, and reach their full potential.
