The WILDE H&F Writers’ Festival is a dynamic and inclusive literary event designed to nurture emerging and aspiring writers by connecting them with experienced authors and industry professionals. Our mission is to provide invaluable guidance, foster creativity, and empower new voices in the literary world. Whether writers are just beginning their journey or seeking to refine their craft, the festival offers a supportive space to learn, grow, and engage with the writing community. A core focus of the festival is championing women and indie authors, amplifying their voices and helping them reach wider audiences. We are committed to breaking barriers in the publishing industry by offering a prominent platform for marginalised writers, ensuring their stories are heard and celebrated.

What we'll deliver:

  • Vibrant Live Author Chats and Interview with Charlene White, ITN Broadcaster and Author.
  • Provide a platform for small businesses, crafters, and food vendors to showcase their unique products.
  • Offering interactive sessions with seasoned authors and wellness programmes.
  • Bringing people together to connect, collaborate, and celebrate in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Celebrating creativity through exhibitions, storytelling, and performances.

Why it's a great idea:

Our festival will bring a wide range of benefits to the community, local businesses, and visitors alike. Economically, it will attract attendees from different areas, increasing foot traffic for local shops and restaurants. Vendors will have an opportunity to showcase their products, contributing to small business growth and local entrepreneurship. Culturally, the festival will celebrate diversity, creativity, and traditions, fostering a sense of pride and unity within the community. Attendees will experience author readings, writing workshops, enriching their cultural understanding and appreciation of the arts. It will also serve as a platform for local artists and performers to gain exposure and connect with wider audiences.

Steps to get it done:

  • 3 months before, secure authors, vendors & sponsors, complete marketing launch, and finalise volunteer recruitment .
