Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

Culture, support, inspiration, and entertainment is at the heart of Castle Park Arts Centre. The building, rich in heritage, is unique in a beautiful setting with galleries, workspaces, and courtyard cafe. People meet in the courtyard, admire the art in the galleries, enjoy the surroundings and relax in the welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is delighted by the art on display, excited with the arts-based activities and entertained and educated by the diverse cultural events.

Arts, culture & heritage

The Centre can continue as a breeding ground for new talent, including young artists and performers, which is a significant asset to the region that would be difficult to replicate. Enhancing local creative skills is a prime objective. Artists displaying in the gallery mainly come from within the region. All are of a high standard even though many are of amateur status. Applications to display art have increased and all four gallery spaces are booked up 12 months in advance with exhibitions running for six weeks at a time. The Open Exhibitions have gone from strength to strength as well. Many high-profile professional artists have displayed at the Centre and are attracted to display their art because rent for gallery space and commission on sales is reasonable.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

Quite simply the vision for the Arts Centre over the next 10 years is to make people happy through culture, support, inspiration and entertainment. Our overriding aim is for everyone who visits or uses the Arts Centre to enjoy themselves and leave feeling good and look forward to returning. If we continue to achieve this we will provide a wonderful leisure outlet for people and the health and well being benefits they experience are considerable.
