About the Project Creator
CGCC is a Community Hub providing services and support to members of the community and beyond. The centre not only provides a space for local businesses and people to hire affordably but it primarily operates as a Community Hub where it provides an extensive range of accessible support services to the local community all of which have been hopefully been described in the previous questions. The local government have sought the help of hubs (us being one of them) to provide the support to people in the community as they dont have the capacity to give. We have built a strong relationship with the local network of Hubs and the Stroud District Council and have become an integral part of their support network for people in the community.- ultimately making us the obvious and best placed organisation to run this project. As a result of previous funding that we have received; we have been able to make a real difference to the community and really need to continue doing so. In response to; 'To what extent is your organisation led by people with 'lived experience'; Our ethos at our Communtiy Hub is based around 'Community Asset Investment' and we have a team of volunteers; paid people; trustees and associates; many of whom have gone through tough and challenging times or life changing experiences which reflect some of the experiences of the demographic of people we support. This project; the opportunity and ability to contine providing and building on the support that we are giving our community is making a huge difference to peoples lives.
The range of activities, events, outreach services, and community support we provide from The Hub really has helped to bring the people who live in and around Cashes Green together. The ‘Community Hub’ provision is really bringing back a sense of community and belonging to the area and to those people who access the centre. People who use the centre and access our services, not only feel they now have somewhere they feel welcome and supported but our services also enable people to connect with other members of the community which in itself has many layers of benefits not least improving mental & physical health. We are keen to develop connections between all demographics and believe that this helps to strengthen community. This is why we endeavour to make as many of our activities and events accessible to all without prejudice.
