CGCC is a Community Hub providing services and support to members of the community and beyond. The centre is not only a space for local businesses and people to hire affordably but it primarily operates as a Community Hub providing an extensive range of accessible support services. The local authority have sought the help of hubs (us being one of them) to support people in the community that they don't always have the resource or capacity to provide themselves. A wide range of different activities and support services run from the hub including; Community Cafes, Cost of Living Support, 'Free To Be Me' sessions, Forest Schools, Boxing for young people, outreach services, referrals to various partner agencies, weekly youth club, regular activities for children, young people and adults - all for little or no cost to ensure maximum accessibility. This funding will help enable us to continue providing some of our regular activities and support services to support the community and beyond

What we'll deliver:

  • Continue running our Thursday Morning Cafe and additional services that take place at the cafe
  • Continue running our Friday Cafe where we provide a hot meal free of charge
  • Continue to run our outreach services including foodbank collection point at our Friday Cafe
  • Continue to provide Outreach services and Cost of Living Support and assistance
  • Provide monthly Forest School sessions free of charge for primary aged children
  • Continue running a weekly youth club for 11-16 year olds
  • Continue to run our 'Free to Be Me' sessions for parents/carers and children with additional needs or neurodiversity
  • Continue to place a huge emphasis on Community Asset Investment to empower local people
  • Continue to focus on reducing isolation for vulnerable members of the community

Why it's a great idea:

The range of activities, events, outreach services, and community support provided by The Hub has helped to bring the people who live in and around Cashes Green together. The ‘Community Hub’ provision is really bringing back a sense of community and belonging to the area and to those people who access the centre. People who use the centre and access our services, not only have somewhere they feel welcome and supported but our services also enable people to connect with other members of the community. This in itself has many benefit layers; not least helping to improve both mental & physical health. We are keen to develop connections between all demographics and believe that this helps to strengthen community. This is why we endeavour to make as many of our activities and events accessible to all without prejudice.

Steps to get it done:

  • Continue operating as an active Community Hub
  • Continue to regularly measure impact and monitor feedback
