Butterfly House Project

We need to raise funds to kit out the inside of the new butterfly house with appropriate planting and make it a facility that can host tropical butterflies and properly accommodate visitors.

VIP Event! 18th August9 years ago

Hooray! We're celebrating 100 pledges on our crowdfunding campaign! Besides pledges of £25 or over being able to add a name to a plaque (if we reach target) we have now set a date for our VIP event for those who pledge £100 or more. This will be at the Museum on Friday the 18th of August from 6pm and will include posh refreshments and exclusive access to the lovely new butterfly house.

The puparium is here and the soil has arrived today! We are getting ready for a 1st August opening.

Hi The funding is coming in now but we have a long way to go! We weer able to extend the deadline to 20th August to give people time to support. We have weeded and planted the flower beds (photo) with 'rainbow mix' as an interim and will follow up with more permanent planting at the appropriate time.

The structure is nearing completion ready for the glass to be intalled. THe Puparium is being built locally and visitors will be able to view the butterflies emerging.
