Holiday Lodges 4 Disabled People Phase 1

We are seeking initial funding for phase 1 designs for planning stage of accessible holiday lodges in a Sunderland location. A project ran by disabled people, for disabled people in the community!

Tailored Leisure Co provides a leisure services for people with physical limitations: from our luxury short breaks for families with a disabled loved one, to at-home exercise tailored to different ability levels.

We are run by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities. So an understanding of the challenges facing people with disabilities – and passion for overcoming them – is at the heart of everything we do.

We know from research and personal experience that current leisure provision often fails to accommodate the needs of people with physical disabilities and we want to change that.
However, for us and our customers and many of the community what does "accessibility really mean?" That is often the million dollar question for disabled people or indeed that eldery family member we all know and love where accsssing things that keep us well is no longer that easy. We no longer want families to worry about accsss to a holiday or swimming .

Our logo symbolises freedom and independence and we want our butterfly lodges to do just that.

So what are we delivering already .

1. We hold community forums and research campaigns that shape our service.

2. Our 12 week community lottery instructor lead weekly online fitness sessions offering yoga, boxercise and seated arm chair tailored to you already has a waiting list

4. Our fully accsssible hot tub offering 121 and family sessions.
5. Our support us volunteer programme - offering inclusive volunteer opportunities to disabled people to build skills and employment experience.
6. We have recently been awarded the disability confident employer make and are working towards our social enterprise Mark.

Our biggest challenge is to make the butterfly lodge complex happen here and have our service be the central hub for everyone to feel part of their community.

Every donation will have a chance to name their own butterfly and appear on our freedom wall symbolising your support and make a large donaton or to sponsor a lodge and be in with a chance for 5 families to win a free 5 night break
