More about our impact
The environment
The project supported the environment by making use of existing community spaces and reusable equipment, avoiding unnecessary travel and new construction. Activities were delivered locally, reducing transport impact, and the shared use of durable instruments encouraged reuse rather than single-use materials.
The local economy
The project supported the local economy by using local venues and services, keeping activity and spending within the Beaumont Leys area. It also helped participants build confidence and skills that can support future volunteering, training, and progression opportunities.
Volunteering, jobs & education
The project created opportunities for local volunteering through session support and delivery, and helped participants develop skills such as teamwork, discipline, and confidence. These skills supported progression into further learning, training, and community involvement.
Arts, culture & heritage
It increased local arts and culture by giving disadvantaged residents access to learning an instrument, developing performance skills, and taking part in a community drumming group. It also celebrated Beaumont Leys through public performance plans, helping showcase local talent at events and festivals.
Activity, health and leisure
The project promoted physical activity and wellbeing through regular drumming practice, movement, and marching. It also supported mental health by encouraging social interaction, routine, and positive use of leisure time.
