Our project is a new project that brings together adults and young people of Beaumont Leys in weekly marching drums practice sessions in preparation for the community parade in Beaumont Leys in 2020.
Our aim for Beaumont Leys Drums is to be ready for a performance in the Beaumont Leys Community Parade which is planned for 5th July 2020. Your support will enable us to purchase the percussion equipment we need to carry out our weekly practice sessions. E2 & Beaumont Lodge Neighbourhood Association are providing free room hire over the duration of the next year for our group. Our project needs a space to practice in where noise won’t be a problem for neighbours and other users of the building. This space has been identified and secured. Storage for the equipment we purchase has also been secured. Our group currently consists of 8 interested individuals and we expect this to grow once delivery sessions begin.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Our project is a fantastic way to engage with disadvantaged young people and adults and to provide activities that encourage involvement in the arts and music. Securing your support means that people that are socially isolated, disabled and/or living in poverty will have access to marching drum sessions at no cost. It also means that project participants will be able to make a special contribution to Beaumont Leys community parade in 2020 and subsequent years after as they will at the front, leading the parade. Your support means we can purchase the equipment we need to begin practice sessions.
