More about our impact
The environment
The damaged playing field in Basing Hill Park was levelled, re-graded and resurfaced with new grass. This has made it fit for purpose, improved aesthetically and safer not just for sports but for all park users.
The local economy
Since completing this Phase 1 of the project and the subsequent installations as part of Phase 2, Basing Hill Ballpark has become a baseball venue which has attracted more peple to the park, not just from the local community but from other areas as visiting teams come to play adult and youth baseball league games.
Volunteering, jobs & education
As new families join our adult and youth baseball teams at Basing Hill Ballpark, we have seen parents and other family members support events in various roles from coaching and umpiring to acting as event staff and grounds crew.
Arts, culture & heritage
The project enabled us to bring the amazing sport of baseball to the heart of the Barnet community.
Activity, health and leisure
The venue has given the opportunity for male & female players of all ages (6 to 60+) to play a different sport which is proving to be very appealing and is considered “cool” especially by kids and young and middle-aged adults
