Lancaster Film Initiative is a not-for-profit film organisation dedicated to using creativity for social good. Our mission is to make filmmaking accessible to everyone — especially those from underrepresented or marginalised communities — by removing the financial, social, and cultural barriers that often stand in the way.
Founded in 2017 and offically openend as a CIC in 2024 by three directors with over 30 years of combined industry experience, we’ve seen firsthand how hard it can be to break into the creative sector. That’s why we offer inclusive workshops and collaborative film projects that equip people with the tools, confidence, and platform to tell their own stories.
We work with charities, social enterprises, schools, and grassroots initiatives to amplify local voices and support causes that matter — from refugee empowerment and food justice to community resilience and youth expression.
We don’t just make films — we make change through film.
