'Angeline' is a heartfelt short film created by the pupils of Dallas Road Primary School in collaboration with Lancaster Film Initiative and Ian Martin. This inspiring project empowers children to take charge of the creative process, from scriptwriting to acting, offering them a hands-on introduction to the arts. The film will beautifully capture Lancaster's rich history while spotlighting the remarkable talent of young, imaginative minds. Building on the success of our previous film "TIG!", which debuted at the Dukes in Lancaster to public acclaim, we are once again uniting the community around this meaningful artistic endeavour. This project not only boosts children's confidence and teamwork skills but also opens doors to potential creative careers. Lancaster Film Initiative is a not-for-profit film organisation dedicated to using creativity for social good. Our mission is to make filmmaking accessible to everyone — especially those from underrepresented or marginalised communities — by removing the financial, social, and cultural barriers that often stand in the way.
Founded in 2017 and offically openend as a CIC in 2024 by three directors with over 30 years of combined industry experience, we’ve seen firsthand how hard it can be to break into the creative sector. That’s why we offer inclusive workshops and collaborative film projects that equip people with the tools, confidence, and platform to tell their own stories.
We work with charities, social enterprises, schools, and grassroots initiatives to amplify local voices and support causes that matter — from refugee empowerment and food justice to community resilience and youth expression.
We don’t just make films — we make change through film.
