Back this project!

'Angeline' is a heartfelt short film created by the pupils of Dallas Road Primary School in collaboration with Lancaster Film Initiative and Ian Martin. This inspiring project empowers children to take charge of the creative process, from scriptwriting to acting, offering them a hands-on introduction to the arts. The film will beautifully capture Lancaster's rich history while spotlighting the remarkable talent of young, imaginative minds. Building on the success of our previous film "TIG!", which debuted at the Dukes in Lancaster to public acclaim, we are once again uniting the community around this meaningful artistic endeavour. This project not only boosts children's confidence and teamwork skills but also opens doors to potential creative careers. Join us as we continue working with our community to host events and expand access to the arts. Watch this space—something truly extraordinary is on the horizon!

What we'll deliver:

  • Support local film makers to facilitate this project
  • Build a time machine
  • Host a film screening
  • Facilitate community events
  • Make a film

Why it's a great idea:

- Promotes community engagement by bringing together local residents, artists, and students to celebrate creativity. - Enhances public awareness and appreciation of Lancaster's cultural heritage through storytelling and film. - Develops a lifelong appreciation for the arts in children, encouraging future participation in creative industries. - Offers children a tangible sense of achievement by showcasing their work to a wider audience. - Strengthens collaboration between schools and professional organisations, fostering future partnerships. - Creates a platform for young voices to be heard, showcasing their perspectives and unique narratives. - Provides an enriching extracurricular experience that complements and extends traditional education. - Acts as a role model project for other schools interested in blending arts with education effectively. - Invites further opportunities to host screenings and discussions, deepening community ties and artistic outreach.
