Last year, in response to lockdown and the resulting difficult landscpae for artists, I set up a project called Artists Walk with arts marketeer Holly Collier. With events and exhibitions cancelled we wanted to give artists another avenue to show their work. We invited artists to use their home windows to display their work to the local community. Artists registered on our website and we plotted the 'exhibition sites' into a Google Map. We promoted the idea to the local areas as an 'Artists Walk' where you can take in local artists work on your daily lockdown walks. As a result artists were able to engage with a new local audience. Many made sales and the feedback was fantastic. We also had the chance to set up an art trail at Alexandra Palace, as they kindly donated some windows for us to use.
Day to day I work as an artist, a painter and print-maker. Formerly an advertising art director, I graduated with a Fine Art degree in 2000. My previous experience in TV advertising gives me the skillset to oversee large projects involving many facets and large budgets.
I enjoyed working with other artists during Artists Walk 2020 and I'm keen to pursue my interest in Public Art and helping artists increase their visiblity to audiences that might otherwise not see it.
