More about our impact

More about our impact

The environment

The environment

We now have a ramp into our outdoor space, the garden gates have been replaced and broken fence panels repaired. We have cleaned up and started to plant our hanging baskets. The space is now used for moments of calm and to enjoy the peace and quiet of this tranquil space. Volunteers and service users have been working hard in the outside, planning for the months ahead and working on a garden design plan.

The local economy

The local economy

We have been able to offer a job club and improving English courses, boosting the confidence of job seekers with many of our service users going on to find gainful employment. Our mental health services have helped women heal from trauma and feel more settled in their lives and able to engage in the local community and economy. We have reduced social isolation by building confidence and skills.

Arts, culture & heritage

Arts, culture & heritage

We have developed a story tellers group - encouraging women to engage with written word. We are running a drama group - building confidence and having fun through the medium of improvisation. We have started a knit and natter group which helps women build skills in fabric and needle art as well as reducing social isolation. We have ran neurographic art courses, the results of which are proudly displayed in our centre, this mindful activity reduces stress and encourages time for self care.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

Our project has welcomed new clients and clients who are now able to return to access our services when previously mobility needs had prevented them. We have been inspired and amazed by how many more women are accessing our services and the building is buzzing with a new community of strong, brave and supportive women.
