Adapt our existing building to provide an accessible space for those using wheelchairs or limited mobility. This will include creating an accessible bathroom and therapy room.

We have called our centre in Chorley home for forty years. We love our building but recognise that it does not fully meet the needs of our community. We have a great location in the town centre, close to public transport links and amenities. This project will make our centre accessible while retaining its homely feel. We are going to add an accessible entrance, accessible bathroom, accessible therapy room and access to our garden space. It will also create an additional upstairs therapy room to increase capacity. We already provide mental health support, trauma informed therapy, workshops and groups but making our building accessible will mean we can offer these vital services to more people. This project will make our centre more inclusive, more welcoming and help us meet the needs of our community. It will also allow us to offer our space to other small community groups, therapists, coaches and practitioners thereby creating a much needed revenue stream for our charity.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Increase volunteering opportunities and open volunteering to those with access needs Increase access to training and education Increase access to mental health support Expand our reach to help more people in our community Boost our offering to the community by providing a space for other organisations to use Enable us to offer far more to disabled women, those with mobility needs and the elderly Help us reach our accessibility goals Additional employment for therapists and counsellors due to increased capacity in the building.

Hi everyone! Becca here with an update on our progress at Chorley Women's Centre. Our building team has almost finished, we are just adding the finishing touches. We took the opportunity to add in some much needed upgrades to our centre such as a new fire alarm system and emergency lighting. Our team of trustees, volunteers and staff are now hard at work cleaning, polishing and setting up the centre ready to re-open on Tuesday 18th March. We are so thrilled with how the space looks, it's bright, airy and really easy to access. We cannot thank you enough for all of your donations and support while we embarked on this ambitious project. We've had some amazing support from businesses and organisations in the community. Our team persevered delivering our services out in the community and we are so grateful for their support. Check out our new building sign, a fresh new look for us, the sign was possible with the amazing fundraising efforts of one of our clients. Well done! Stay tuned for a video tour and photos. Thanks again! Becca and the team.
Hi everyone. Becca here from Chorley Women's Centre - just an exciting update to share. Our team of builders, plumbers and plasterers started work at the centre. We're now in week four and things are really progressing. Walls have come down and gone up, bathrooms moved and skips filled. We're confident we're on track with our timescale and our budget. None of this would be possible without your support - so thank you! Our counselling teams are hard at work at their temporary location and our community hosts at Calico lounge and Primrose Gardens along with our volunters and staff are keeping the support for the women of Chorley and South Ribble going. Could you help? Do you know any local businesses that may wish to support us? We've already had some fantastic help from J Dickensons, Dewsons's and Berry's. Next up we're sourcing tiling and flooring - do you know anyone that might consider supporting us? We'll thank our community partners on social media and our website. Thanks again so much for believing in us - it's really happening! Becca
We have managed to hit our target and are now in the last phase of our campaign. From all of the team at Chorley Women’s Centre - thank you! Every pledge and every ounce of support has made this possible. Our centre is an incredible place of hope, love and support and these renovations will mean every woman can use our services. Thank you again! Keep your eyes peeled for updates on the work and all the amazing things coming in 2025. Thank you - From Rebecca and all the team.
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
