Help us to re-surface and transform an access road into a community asset with trees, flowers and planters. Let's combat anti-social behaviour!
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We have an access road between Glenthorne Gds and Woodville Gds, previously used as a dumping ground and home for anti-social behaviour and stolen cars etc. With the help of Stephanie and Marion from Redbridge Council, we have managed to close off both ends with planters so this private access road is not used as a short cut for lorries, vans and people dumping cars, and now we need to clean it up. We've already had planters and bulbs donated by the council so we can't wait to add some greenery and colour. We now need to re-surface the dirt track that has been untouched for decades. We have started to raise a chunk of the funds through the generous support and help of the neighbours but during these testing times and lock down we are still short of the amount we need to finish the project. Can you help?
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project will not only look amazing as opposed to an overgrown dirt track (which attracts antisocial behaviour, stolen cars, fly-tipping, rodents.) But when we finish, it will look more like a park "A walk in the park". We hope to eventually create space for benches too, neighbours doing planting each season, overall it will look amazing. Everyone wants to live in peace and take pride where they live, no one wants to live next to a dumping site or where there is anti social behaviour every day. We are showing the community what can be done to our area if we all tried our best to look after it and chip in a little in time and effort. We are getting help from our children and showing them what it means to take pride in your streets and area, respect your community. If you would like to get involved in some planting and having a go at gardening, please get in touch and join us - we'd love to welcome you!
