Why not send Chats Palace Charity Cards this Christmas and help support our campaign. We've already raised £420.50 from cards sales and we've got more cards to sell ! You can buy cards at Chats Palace or Pages of Hackney on Lower Clapton Rd. The cards are very competitively priced at £6.50 for 5 cards & £12.50 for 10 cards and 100% of the profits go to help put a new front door on Chats Palace.
Our relaunched campaign is now live. If you pledged support for our initial campaign your pledge will now have been cancelled. We need to you to re-pledge and help us reach our new target by Jan 2018. With a wonderful £5000 award from Theatres Trust we are already 30% funded. Can you help us reach 50% by Christmas ...?
Over the last few months, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support offered by our community to our campaign to put a new front door on Chats Palace. Knowing that you backed us has made the sheer hard graft of raising money worthwhile. Your pledges and your comments on our Spacehive page have been amazing and so appreciated: Thank you! With the award of our first capital grant (more on that shortly 😊) we’ve decided to take a couple of practical steps to make sure we can deliver our project. Firstly, we are going to close our current Spacehive campaign and relaunch early next week with an updated campaign – same name, but set to raise funds to deliver stage 1 of our project. This has a fundraising target of £29000 + Spacehive costs and a deadline of 31 Jan 2018. With all the funds secured, we will have a new front door, new accessible path and improved lighting in place by Aug 2018. Stage 2 campaign will be launched in Feb 2018 and will deliver outdoor lighting for the building along with a ‘Chats Palace’ building sign. Stage 3 campaign will fundraise for bike racks, outdoor planting and seating. Walk passed Chats Palace anytime from late summer 2018 to summer 2019 and you’ll be watching a transformation take place. Your support is what has got us to this point and we really need you to repledge your support on our new campaign page (when we close the existing page your pledges will be cancelled). If all 130 of you support stage 1 of the revised campaign, we’ll be there in no time at all…. Paula Van Hagen, Director
We’re delighted to launch our first fundraising Christmas Card. We know it’s not December yet but hey – we’ve got a fundraising target to meet! Our card showcases one of local artist, Zosienka’s beautiful illustrations of Chats Palace complete with suitably spiffy urban foxes. The card is blank inside so you can write in your own message and is printed on 50% recycled paper that is also recyclable. Cards are available in bundles of 5 (£6.50) and 10 (£12.50) and 100% of all profits will go to help us put A New Front Door on Chats Palace. We hope you’ll support us and drop in to get your cards this weekend… they’ll be on sale until stocks run out…
We’re making a short fundraising film with local filmmaker Helen Carrie about Chats Palace. If you have a funny story about your connection with Chats Palace or strong opinions about why everyone should support our campaign for a new front door – then we’d love to hear from you. Please come along to Chats on Sat 9 September between 2pm and 5pm and we’ll capture you on camera. It’s our Open Day as well so why not try out a new class from our autumn 2017 programme while you’re here – it’s all FREE (more details on www.chatspalace.com). Helen’s film on Chats Palace will be screened on our website and Facebook page later this month ...keep your eyes peeled!
Phase 2 of our campaign is now underway: spread the word and let’s put a new front door on Chats Palace! Sadly, the Mayor of London didn’t make a pledge but, so what - we’re going to make it work regardless. Our campaign will now run to Nov 17 - you can help us by asking your friends and colleagues to make their pledge. And keep your eye peeled for an announcement of our first artist and maker commissions plus details of some exciting fundraising events just for supporters.
Whoop, 120 people have pledged since fundraising began!
