The idea
This project focuses on empowering local youth by creating a safe and inclusive space that fosters learning, personal growth, and the development of essential skills. Through tailored programmes and resources, it aims to inspire young individuals to explore their passions, build confidence, and work towards achieving their full potential. By collaborating with the community, the initiative seeks to address the unique needs of local youth, offering mentorship, workshops, and opportunities that encourage both academic and personal success. It is a dedicated effort to nurture the next generation within a supportive and positive environment.
With this funding we will use it to employ a sports coach for sessions, replace the floodlights and goals.
What we'll deliver
- We will carry on delivering our 2 nights a week youth provision and look to expand further
- we will carry on improving our facilities Making it available to the wider community
- Offer training opportunities To our young people, volunteers and staff
Why it's a great idea
In Wragby, many young people and their families face challenges associated with the cost-of-living crisis, high unemployment rates, and low aspirations. Many feel isolated, lonely, or are drawn to negative behaviours, such as congregating on the streets and causing trouble. Over the past five years, we’ve worked tirelessly to improve our old, rundown school building to make it a welcoming space not only for young people but also for the wider community.
Our youth sessions have proven effective in addressing these issues. However, the growing demand for our services, mean we are always in need of grants and funding to sustain and expand our services, providing young people with opportunities to grow while fostering stronger community connections.
Steps to get it done
- We would like to recruit at least 2 new volunteers
- We would like to increase the hours of 2 of our part time staff to cover the session
- Replace the Flood lights for the out side football pitch making it more available for the whole local community
- Replace the football goals for the out side pitch making it more avaible to the whole community
- One night a week run sessions for both young people and adults in the local community using the new facility
