Let's get youth cricket going again!

Woodpeckers Cricket Club By Woodpeckers Cricket Club

Our cricket club relies upon membership fees and sponsors' support to survive. We need your help during the COVID-19 crisis to ensure that we can begin youth coaching as soon as everything reopens.

This project was funded on 24 May 2020!

With both professional and amateur cricket being very unlikely until at least July, we have no club income but we would like to ensure that we are ready to restart activities as soon as we are allowed. We have set up this crowdfunding page to raise as much as possible to help pay for the replacement of junior batting equipment and professional coaching during July and August (or the beginning of next season if we cannot restart this Summer). In addition, the ECB will donate £100 if we are able to raise at least £100 towards our target. But this is only available for funds raised in May and June, so please support us as soon as you can!

What we'll deliver:

  • Pay for professional coaches when training restarts
  • Replace junior batting equipment and safety gear

Why it's a great idea:

Our club is on "life support" at the moment - we are doing everything possible to keep the pitch and facilities in excellent condition, ready for when cricket is able to restart. But this is costly and, without being able to raise membership fees or sponsorship income, our finances are under severe pressure. Your support will help us pay for some of the things that will allow us to restart youth training as soon as the rules allow - hopefully later this Summer. We want to ensure that the club is ready for all players and families to come together and enjoy cricket as soon as this crisis is over!

Steps to get it done:

  • Provisionally book Gloucestershire Cricket coaches
  • Obtain quotes for junior batting and safety equipment
