The local economy

The local economy

The event attracted more than 15,000 visitors - a significant increase in footfall for local businesses on the day of the event. We held the forecast number of community workshops in the Town Centre too, boosting the visitor economy throughout the lead-up to the day itself.

Arts, culture & heritage

We delivered the festival itself, the community workshops in the lead up, and helped develop local artists through the Creative Skills Development Programme - building capacity in the local area to deliver future events.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

Winterbloom 2025 was a key date in Colne's calendar, attracting local people and those from neighbouring towns and boroughs to Colne. It helped put Colne on the map as a local destination, and encouraged visitors to walk around the town centre - both to take in the light festival but also to explore the town itself.
