The idea
The Windrush Festival is an annual celebration of Caribbean culture and the contributions of the Windrush generation in Preston. Taking place at Avenham Park, it features live music, DJ sets, cultural performances, a cricket match, children’s activities, and a variety of Caribbean and international cuisines. The festival fosters community unity, cultural appreciation, and intergenerational storytelling, attracting thousands of attendees from across the UK.
In 2025, we aim to build on its success, expanding activities and engagement to create an even more inclusive and vibrant celebration of Preston’s diverse heritage.
What we'll deliver
- The hiring of a stage and sound equipment for the event
- Seating and shelter on the day of the festival
- Hiring of toilet facilities on the day
- Payment for ambulance/first aid
- Security provision
