Linnards Lane Playing Field currently offer many facilities for young residents. The Trail will provide an 'All-inclusive' facility for all. Eight pieces of exercise equipment & ground-level lighting
The Fitness and Well-Being project is a first important step towards a wider project, whose objective is to make fitness facilities in our village freely available and accessible to residents of all ages and abilities. The eight pieces of equipment have been chosen carefully with input from residents and companies and charities with experience in this field. They are as inclusive and varied as possible. They will be installed complete with full instructions for safe and effective use. Further down in the application please see photos of some equipment examples. Ground level lighting will enhance the pathway used by residents to access the village shop and school. It will make the route across the Playing Field safer for residents to use on dark mornings and winter evenings. Wincham Parish Council has formed a Working Party with residents from all walks of life, with a wide range of skills and experience to raise the funds and help deliver the project.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The Fitness and Well-Being Trail will make use of land that is currently under utilized. It will also provide a circular track for those that want to run or walk to increase their daily steps. This part of the project is asking for funding for the exercise equipment and ground level lighting. The exercise equipment will provide an opportunity and incentive for residents to exercise different parts of the body and to enjoy being outside, at no cost and with benefits for both physical and mental well-being. There will be full instructions for each piece of equipment so that they can be used safely. The Ground level lighting will serve multiple purposes, including providing safety and security, enhancing the aesthetics of the environment and extending the usable time of the outdoor space into the evening & night time hours. We know that it is important to use outdoor lighting responsibly, taking into consideration the impact on neighbouring properties and minimizing light pollution.
