The local economy

The local economy

It brought the village together for an important national event and people bought picnics etc from the local shops in order to celebrate together.

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

In oder to make the event work, we needed volunteers and organisation. The volunteers involved have gone on to organise other village events and to look after the park. The Jubilee celebrations were a catalyst to bring the village residents and the Parish Council together in the happiest of circumstances.

Arts, culture & heritage

Arts, culture & heritage

It solidified what living in Wincham means. A village has an identity based on its shared activities and values. For Wincham, these were what was celebrated at the Jubilee. The Spacehive grant also purchased a loudspeaker system which has since been used at other events and a beacon which was lit again at the DDay commemoration.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

It was a happy event, outside, with children playing in the park. It brought strangers together and created friendships.
