The idea
The Parish of Willington has one defibrillator, located centrally at Willington Corner.
In the event of a cardiac arrest, the chances of survival are greatly increased if a defibrillator is readily accessible at all times and is nearby!
The time taken to access a defibrillator is of the upmost importance. Travel to and from the extremities of the Parish to the present defibrillator will take several minutes even by car; strategically locating two additional publicly accessible (24/7) defibrillators will reduce access time to a couple of minutes, significantly increasing a patients chances of survival. Two additional sites have been identified at Willington Hall and at The Boot Inn. These businesses have a high footfall of visitors, so the benefit will be for both parishioners and visitors alike.
