White City Theatre Project

The Latest from White City Youth Theatre & DanceWest

Up until our performance we were very busy rehearsing our play ‘These Bridges’ written by Phoebe Éclair-Powell for the National Theatre’s Connections Festival.  We partnered with DanceWest in order to work with a very talented movement director, Annie Deakin-Foster, on an exciting play which involved a lot of movement and ensemble work. Our young company all worked extremely hard throughout the rehearsal period .   We did a home performance where the National Theatre director attended and gave the company valuable notes in order to do our best possible work for our performance on the main stage at the Bush theatre in May. It was very well attended by friends, family and local residents.   The performance was a great success and the group were incredibly proud of their achievements, they learnt the value of teamwork and commitment, they developed great confidence in their movement skills.  The opportunity to perform on a professional stage with the technical team at the Bush who all made it so wonderful was an incredible experience for them all and has really helped them in raising their self confidence and pride in their personal achievements.
