More about our impact
Volunteering, jobs & education
In our final production we managed to provide employment to 12 professional and graduate level actors, who have been struggling due to the current Covid climate to find work. We had 6 volunteers who worked on the project, whom we provided the opportunity to work with a professional company, exploring dialogue, improvisation, puppetry and movement workshops including original songs in several different languages. There were many difficulties but these challenges helped improve resilience and ingenuity. We were often pushed to limits but this had its rewards. We became stronger as a company, more inventive, the singing and acting developed in strides, the intricacies of the script were explored and unravelled. And now because of the subject matter of the play we have a greater understanding of global Inequalities.
Arts, culture & heritage
We created a unique ethnically diverse piece that veered away from the social and political norms and revealed a joyful and challenging view of the modern world. This play was very ambitious! We managed to exceed expectations by not only performing at the Cockpit but also in a celebrated restaurant and club l'Escargot. This provided another fundraising opportunity enabling us to offer more employment positions to artists.
Activity, health and leisure
We were able to contribute work to the theatre industry which has been substantially hit throughout the pandemic. Bringing a variety of audience in aged 12 to 85.
