To develop the huge range of life changing projects delivered by Worcester Warriors Community Foundation creating a wheelchair rugby team in Worcester
Warriors Community Foundation are at the heart of the Worcester community supporting some of the most vulnerable groups of people of all ages through adapted sports. Our latest initiative is wheelchair rugby and we are aiming to create a wheelchair team here in worcester supporting people with a range of diasbilities offering them a sport that they may not have had the opportunity to play. The project will support mental health and well being of its participants and will welcome anyone to get involved and play the sport on a regular basis. To start this project we are fundraising to acquire 10 specialist wheelchairs.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The project will support a range of people living with disabilities which may include those injured, amputees, ex forces or living with a range of physical disabilities. Participants will have the opportunity to play competitive sport where they may not have this opportunity normally and this will in turn aim to improve wellbeing and mental health of those involved developing disability sport even further through the foundations work
