Covid is one of the biggest challenges in Westcott Cricket Club's 151 year history. Please donate something so that we can survive the serious loss of income in 2020 and provide junior cricket in 2021
COVID has decimated this summer's cricket -- and at least £3000 of much needed annual revenue has been lost. This is a significant part of the club's annual turnover. Our juniors had just 5 weeks of training instead of the normal 18-20 and no junior cricket matches. Many youngsters were unable to participate in the limited training we did provide. Now we have returned to cricket we need to safeguard the future next year which is where this project comes in. With the retirement of long-standing coaches Pete Moore and Alan Pickering, the club needs funds to train up two new coaches. Basic training courses cost several hundred pounds per coach This crowdfunding is to provide funding for the next set of Westcott junior coaches.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
There are obvious benefits to health and fitness of course, but also a local cricket club like ours creates a sense of community, and offer valuable social interactions across the whole spectrum of village society. These things are even more important now COVID has forced us to observe social distancing. Junior training sessions and matches bring together children, parents, and grandparents in a fun and relaxed environment. Cricket training provides our young players with skills in a game that they can participate in for the next 60+ years in a variety of ways.
