We are raising money to cover the extensive loss of income to Wellington Cricket Club caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Please help support us so we can cover the costs incurred by the Covid-19 pandemic. By helping us to bridge this funding gap, you will be ensuring that Wellington Cricket Club come out of the crisis with the same comprehensive offer, in terms of cricket opportunities and facilities, as it had going into 2020. In 2019, we offered cricket to over 200 men, women, boys and girls in the Wellington area. With your support, the club will recover from this set-back and continue to expand this number moving forward.

I just wanted to say a massive thank-you to everyone who contributed to this Crowdfunding page over the past 50 days. The money raised will go a huge way to alleviating the impact of the virus on our operations this summer and in time allow us to concentrate on what we'd much rather be doing - delivering cricket for the people of Wellington. On top of the nearly £1800 raised on this fund, we received several donations offline - and on the last day one of our life members wrote us a cheque for £500 which took us over - or rather, smashed - our £2000 target. As such, our very own Norman Ross will be getting his head clean shaved, as promised, over the next few days. Look out for the results on our social media and website! VolunteerWellington Cricket Club is one of the largest community sports clubs in Shropshire.
Established in 1947, the Club’s picturesque home in the shadow of the iconic Wrekin has grown from the cliched cowshed to a large cricket facility with a modern two-story pavilion, bar and changing facilities, two playing fields, and dedicated practice nets. These days the club offers cricketing opportunities for men, women, boys and girls of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Wellington have an ECB Clubmark and compete in the Shropshire County Cricket League, where we field five senior sides, and in the Shropshire Cricket Board’s ladies and junior competitions.
We are proud to be a thriving part of the market town of Wellington and welcome new visitors, supporters and members from the local area to come along to Orleton Park and get involved.
