More about our impact
The environment
Promotes Active Transportation By encouraging outdoor exercise, students may be more inclined to walk, bike, or run to school or in their community, reducing car use and lowering carbon emissions. Reduces Energy Use Unlike indoor gyms that require electricity for lighting, air conditioning, and equipment, outdoor gyms use natural light and fresh air, and typically feature non-electric, manual equipment, which helps save energy. Encourages Appreciation for Nature Exercising outdoors helps students connect with nature, making them more aware of the environment and more likely to adopt eco-friendly habits and support green initiatives.
The local economy
Ongoing maintenance and programming (e.g. fitness instructors or school staff overseeing use) may support local employment.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Pupils interest in health, PE, or sports management gain real-world experience that looks great on resumes.
Arts, culture & heritage
The outdoor gym can be a training space for pupils involved in theatre, cultural dance, or marching bands, improving their strength and endurance.
Activity, health and leisure
With various equipment like resistance machines, pupils can easily work out during breaks, PE classes, or after school.
