Restoration and maintenance of the War Memorial in St John's Churchyard , Merrow, Guildford following signicant damage by storm Eunice in early 2022
The Merrow War Memorial stands in the Churchyard of St John the Evangelist Church in Merrow, Guildford, Surrey. The Pillar and Cross atop the War Memorial were toppled during Storm Eunice in early 2022.. The Friends of St Johns (FoStJ) have taken on the task, onbehalf of the PCC, to raise funds for the repair and restoration and on going maintenance of the Memorial to meet the Remembrance Day Service for November 2022 when the community gather around the Memorial to give thanks to those that gave their lives that we may live in peace. Our target is £4,068 of which just over half the monies have been raised by local donations.

At the Remembrance Day Service in November 2022, and in subsequent years, the community can once again gather around the Memorial in its full glory to give thanks to those that have given their lives that we may live in peace.
