Transporting our community to adventure

We are looking to replace our aging minibus, ensuring transport is available to those who need it in our community and provide life defining experiences to our youth members and partner organisations

This project has reached its fundraising target. It has also activated Continuous Fundraising, which means you can still donate and support the project.

The idea

Our minibus replacement is critical to ensure we can continue our own objectives as well as building stronger relationships within our community.
We’ve been using our current minibus for 11 years enabling us to provide reliable, quality and more importantly affordable transport for both our own members and over 50 other voluntary organisations. Failure to replace the minibus will limit the activities for both us and these organisations, owing to the fact that other transport would be unaffordable and thus meaning events and trips are not financially viable.
Many of the groups using our minibus are from inner cities and other urban areas. Our minibus allows them to get out further afield and away from the cities and in to the countryside.

What we'll deliver

  • Purchase of a newer minibus

Why it's a great idea

We work directly with young people aged 4 to 18. Our current membership is around 100 young people. Providing them with skills for life, through adventure and life experiences. Minibuses are key to being able to provide experience further afield, providing transport for young people to get them to camps, trips and outings. These outdoor experiences are key to the development of young people, improving their physical and mental health, providing them with opportunities for personal development and experiences they may not get otherwise.
Scouting and our partner organisations use our vehicles to get their members to all parts of the UK and beyond. Allowing young people to enjoy the great outdoors; go for a hike, climb a mountain, sleep in a tent for the first time, go abseiling, kayak down a river and many more life changing activities.
Our current minibus has been used by over 50 organisations; we pride ourselves on sharing our resources to maximise benefit to our community.

Steps to get it done

  • Purchase of the newer minibus
  • Advertise it's availability to existing and potential new users
