FINAL COUNTDOWN5 days ago

Dear Supporter We have entered the final few hours of the Warehouse Arts Centre Kitchen Appeal and I have made this video to express our gratitude for your generosity and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It has been quite a journey from the initial vision to the imminent opening of the Warehouse Arts Centre. Our partnership team has worked tirelessly to get the venue ready and, even though we all need a holiday, the real work will begin on Friday 26th June when we finally open to the public... and we can't wait!! We want to thank all of our advocates, supporters, cheerleaders and incredible volunteers, and especially to our kitchen appeal donors. We can feed you now! Friday 26th June: The Modulart gallery opens for a private view of the first exhibition, Meet the Locals, at 5.30pm, and the art show will be open throughout the weekend and beyond to the general public. At 7.30pm Dash Rip Rock & the Ton of Lead will debut on the stage in the new Coopers Bar followed by Tico Tico. Saturday 27th June: 1pm - 5.45pm Coopers will host TidesOut Studios acoustic showcase, a line-up of fabulous local musical talent. 2.30pm and 4pm will be TidesOut A Cappella choir, alongside Intact Singers and Soundskills Songsters led by Well Arty MD Stef. This will take place in the Theatre space. 3pm - 4pm Well Arty presents local poets reading their work in the Theatre space. At 6.30pm brilliant local alt/goth/punk band Chemical Cut take to the Coopers stage, followed at 7.30pm by the incredible Liz Owen. Finally, at 9pm, Slim Filter & the Cigarettes will bring the house down (hopefully not literally!) Sunday 28th June: Coopers will host the brilliant Jazz Stats 17-piece big band, who will play from 12noon until 2pm (ticketed event) followed by Coopers own in-house jazz band from 3pm until 5.30pm. 2pm until 6pm there will be a film-making drop-in workshop in the Media suite, and a local makers market next door in the Theatre space. From 6pm in Coopers there will be an open mic hosted by Babs. The Modulart gallery Meet the Locals exhibition will be open to view at various times over the weekend. Coopers Music shop will be open at various times over the weekend. Do browse :) Ditto cafe and Bell, Book & Candle crafts shop coming soon. The opening weekend is part of the Music Venue Trust Everywhere at Once festival. Looking forward to seeing you all there! Thank you, a million times, thank you. We tried a private soft opening to celebrate a friend's wedding. Oh what a night! It was fantastic and bodes very well for the future. We still have a lot to do before our official opening on the 26th June but work continues apace to make this entire building a very special place. The gallery and theatre are almost finished, the studio is being wired up and soundproofed. In the bar there is now heating and air conditioning, as well as a disabled toilet. We just need a few extra quid to get the kitchen on track and we will be all ready for visitors. We are practically a third of the way to our kitchen appeal target, and if we can maintain the momentum we may receive a donation from Sefton Council which would boost the campaign to a successful outcome. We are planning a poetry and fundraising evening in Wine & Words on Thursday 4th June. Do come in for a glass of wine. Thank you so much for your generosity. What a town!
